I took a few days of vacation this week. My buddy Bruce from Boston flew out this afternoon. We ended up flying from here to Las Vegas, meeting some friends of ours there for poker and general debauchery (nothing crazy this time, I swear).

Bruce wanted to fly over the Hoover Dam, so we took a detour on the way up to Henderson and flew to the dam. Bruce was operating my P.O.S. camera (I desperately need to upgrade), and he took about 5 or 6 photos as we circled right over the dam. He must have had it in manual mode and not clicked "EXE" to save 'em. Simple mistake. Anyway, here's all we have to show for it, a photo taken as we approached the lake/dam area.

The coolest part of the trip was when Las Vegas approach instructed me, "RV 14D, squawk VFR, change to the frequency for the dam approved." I quickly came back, "Roger, 14D squawking VFR...and what's the damn frequency?" I couldn't help thinking about all those jokes that get forwarded around by email every once in a while about funny things said over the radio, like, "I've got that Fokker in sight." That sort of thing.
